Circular economy. Explainer video.
The project is my form of activism in response to the environmental situation. It aims to turn our inaction in the face of environmental disaster into action. I had to find a way to change our perception of the world and open us up to changing our habits. For me, the goal
of the project was to introduce the idea of the natural system as a whole, in which we are an integral part.
The circular economy has become the solution because it connects the concept of the earth as a coherent system, of which we are a part, to our daily lives, directly to our use. Circularity offers the opportunity to simply move from what we know to thinking about why we do things the way we do. In its form, it conveys an idea as well as solutions; it is a transformation of the existing system, not just
a technological solution.
I have completed the project by creating an explanatory video because it can effectively communicate two important aspects. Firstly,
it can explain complex scientific issues, and secondly, it can also raise environmental awareness. The video includes a narrative
that demonstrates the current linear economy driven by capitalism and compares it with the concept of a circular economy.
In the realization, I used stop motion animation. It creates an atmosphere, is closer, and is more grounded in reality.
Its main element is motion design in the form of explaining the discussed content. By introducing a non-obvious mood
into the realization, I wanted to create a satirical and humorous tone, inciting anger and a desire for change.
The proposed concept is not a complete solution.
But for some, it could be the first step toward change.
